As a family nurse practitioner, Hughes is often your first clinical contact. Hughes knows the value of trust and relationships in family medicine as she helps you feel comfortable and confident in your healthcare journey. Hughes likes to summarize her care philosophy with a quote by the late Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  

Hughes earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Northwestern State University of Louisiana College of Nursing in Shreveport. Board certified by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Hughes helps families stay well so they can stick to their normal routine. 

Born and raised in northwest Louisiana countryside, Hughes now enjoys time on her own farm. Her husband, Matt, was her high school sweetheart and they have two sons, Huck and Walker.
